Spoilers weaken what makes the show interesting. With a lot of promise in the first two episodes I would say Blast of Tempest could be just as good if not better than Angel Beats! and Eden of The East! I recommend watching this all the way through without reading many reviews or doing much research as it would make the show less powerful (I already accidentally read some things on wiki!!! and I'm very angry). There is some suggestiveness but I'm not sure if it's translation error or not. Also in some of the scenes it's realistic and makes sense. Warning level: Medium Though the women are scantly clad at times, it could be worst and there is no nudity, groping, bad moe etc. It would really give it an edge visually! This helps make the pace warmer, and smoother like an awesome latte with whip creme on top or tea made flawlessly. I hope Blast keeps this type of animation abundant all the way to the end. It gives a special feeling.like you are there or want to be. This really adds to the cinematography and makes me love the show. The first episode has butterflies, snow, detailed characters and more. You don't see this often, even in main stream movies, so this is a gem that shows the power of Anime. Performed with ferociousness and clarity. Like in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or Hero but in a sci-fi kind of way. The rich pace is balanced with ease of action. Meet the female expounder who is also lost yet focused, Hakaze Kusaribe. You don't know why he's necessarily doing what he does. At first you don't know what will happen to Yoshi. ![]() If you enjoyed a combination of Lost, Eden of The East, or Harry Potter you will enjoy this. Even though I don't like Shakespeare, because he's referenced so often, it complements the show more than I could have hoped. Mahiro Fuwa and Yoshino Takigawa are the protagonists and give Shakespeare references out the "wahzoo". I don't know either Murakami is surprisingly okay?).Blast of Tempest: The Civilization Blaster is a perfectly paced story about all things that make any story great. Update on the current season: Still watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (a bit weak on the Stand user of the week aspect, doesn't feel quite as dynamic and put together as the previous two parts), No Game No Life (the ecchi is getting kind of annoying, but otherwise still fun), Captain Earth (makes me want to rewatch Star Driver and Heroman also, Daichi is great, and so are the others), Coffin Princess Chaika (what can I say, I like the JRPG setting, also everything is inoffensive), World is Still Beautiful (my shojo love, whatever), and Brynhildr in the Darkness (. (The way Samon bemoans how all these teenagers' feelings are deciding the fate of the world. It's still stupidly pretentious, of course, but also pretty solid overall. The understated way she and Yoshino dated is really. weirdo with a bad personality, yes, but also just a normal girl in many ways. Actually, I was just overall really surprised by how much I liked Aika, post episode 21. Then there was Aika punching Hakaze for saying that Yoshino cried. Yoshino's freak out at the ryokan was well done and pretty painful to watch, in a good way. He genuinely believes that (comes to believe that). But that thinking of "I respect her choices" continues, so it's not just a weird thing to make the story progress. Also, he takes the boyfriend revelation so smoothly, really. I really liked their reactions in certain places.Įg, Mahiro fights Samon to protect Yoshino at the Tree of Exodus revival, even when Yoshino turns on him, because he cares about Yoshino, period. Mahiro and Yoshino are pretty unique, Aika is much more colorful than I expected, especially after episode 21, and Hakaze is the one who grows so much over the course of the series. This is just so anime.Īnyway, though it's pretentious and silly in many places, I think it's a story that holds together pretty well, is generally self-contained without any questions that are left completely unanswered, and has pretty interesting characters. ![]() The Shakespeare quotes never get less ridiculous, but if what they are saying about the content of the plays is true, I can see how you could draw some connections, and the Tempest vs Hamlet stuff is pretty interesting.Īnd of course, there are aliens and their crazy tech. This is actually pretty interesting if you marathon it.
